Sunday, January 1st, 8pm - 2am: Mark de Clive-Lowe presents CHURCH
From the jazz club to the turntables, each month is a musical journey with surprise guests and features. Come in early for some dinner, drinks and dessert - the live music kicks off at 9pm with a live acoustic jazz set led by MdCL on piano and guests. At 11pm for the second set MdCL transitions to his rhodes, drum machines, synths and electronic toys for a twisted club set of jazz-infused beats, and the night wraps up with a DJ set from MdCL. Special guests this month include Kamasi Washington (saxophone), Trevor Ware (bass), Dexter Story (drums), nia andrews (vocals), and
DJ Destroyer.
Past surprise guests have included Jody Watley, Dwight Trible, Emoni Fela, Joy Jones and more! ($10)

Friday, January 6th, 9:30p - 1:30a: The Rugged Nuggets
Emerging from the tight-knit Los Angeles funk/soul community, The Rugged Nuggets are now the newest collective to carry the torch of instrumental music. What started out as a studio side project by quickly spawned into a 7-piece live band whose rugged sound pays homage to classic soul, soul-jazz and afro-funk music. NY-based Singer-pianist-producer and UCLA music alum Billy White returns to LA after a warm critical reception for his debut album of original jazz instrumentals (First Things First, 2010). He will be sharing his love of of rock, soul, gospel and R&B with a collection of original songs, in anticipation of the release of an upcoming EP and national tour. An in-demand sideman whose credits include Grammy nominees Bilal and Maiysha, White is also a gospel music minister.

A seasoned musician and singer, Quetzal brings a unique flair whether it's on his electric blue violin or strumming on his jet black acoustic guitar! His innate musicality has led to key collaborations and performances with many legendary musicians such as The Mambo King himself, Tito Puente, Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Lalo Guerrero, and Jorge Santana. Quetzal’s artistry, much like his American, Mexican, and Brazilian heritage, bridges many Latin and American cultures and styles. A 6 piece New Old World Gypsy band led by songstress, AK.
A unique and original musical ensemble. There is the diverse instrumentation --tinwhistles, accordions, violins, stand up bass, guitars, and percussion that thinks it’s a Ringling Brothers Circus. There are the Kalashnikovs, intense, virtuosic and inventive. And rhythmically tight as a drum. The repertoire is a collection of sharp left turns and foreign tongues. From Gypsy love songs to Russian lullabies to Serbian ballads to Spanish Copla to French pop to what sounds suspiciously like rock n roll.

The David Moyer Group is a jazz ensemble rooted in the tradition of swing while staying firmly planted in the modern world. Featuring some of Los Angeles’ top jazz talent, it is focused on exploring original compositions as well as arrangements of hand-selected music by artists such as Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, Duke Pearson, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Billy Strayhorn, Otis Redding and others.

The Brokers (The BMMB) are a native band from Long Beach with a “futuristic retro” sound that encompasses numerous genres from Blues, Reggae, Jazz, to Dubstep. While touching on the classic sound of yesteryear, The Brokers push the envelope toward an unrecognizable vibe from the distant future.
